Residential Heating and Air Conditioning
|
Carolina Heating Service offers, installs and maintains heating and air conditioning systems from Trane, Carrier and other reknown manufacturers for residential applications. Heating and air conditioning systems, especially the heater part, exist in various designs and configurations with multiple components. In our short explanation of systems and their components we want to concentrate on systems used most in our service area, the Upstate of South Carolina including Greenville SC, Anderson and Spartanburg, Pickens and Oconee. The systems are best described as forced air system, where an air handler or blower moves the heated or cooled air through the house's air duct system. In contrast, there are ductless system, see our section about Split Ductless HVAC Systems.
Furnace:There are various heating systems. The most used for the Carolinas are furnace systems where fuel in the form of heating oil or natural gas is burnt to generate heat. Furnaces often combine the actual heat generating burner chamber and the blower or air handler to transport the heat. Call us for the most cost effective heating solution. Heat Pump:More and more heat pump systems are being installed because of cost benefits of the heat source. The source for the heat is the surrounding air, the soil or a nearby water body such as a lake. See our special page for Heat Pumps.
Systems taking the energy from the soil or a water body such as a lake are called geothermal or ground source heating and air conditioning systems. Air Conditioning:All these systems employ compressors and cool down coils in an outside unit and indoors an evaporator coil. The indoor coil picks up the heat from the circulated air to cool your indoors. Carolina Heating Servce offers heating systems using natural gas, electric power, heat pump or geothermal energy, air conditioning systems, humidifier and dehumidifier, air handler and all levels of controls from thermostats to digital electronic whole house control units. As an authorized dealer for Trane, Carrier, Aprilaire and Water Furnace, Carolina Heating Service has access to all products and we can provide you with a wide selection of matching products. A heating and air conditioning project includes a couple of steps prior to the actual equipment installation. Based on an onsite review and documentation of the building a load calculation is performed. This allows for proper dimensioning and selection of the equipment to be installed. As a final step of the installation process extensive testing is performed to release the project. For full heating and air conditioning details please contact us at 866-488-4688 |

Typically forced air systems, whether for residential or commercial application, consist of the following components:
Heat Pump Systems mostly use the surrounding air as energy source and may include an electric booster heater for extreme cold times. They are consequently called
